Top of the Weekend to You: Kinny's Modern Masters 2015 Top 10 Edition

Top of the Weekend to You Magic: The Gathering Fans. I'm back with you to discuss my top of the top I want for the box I'm going to open of Modern Masters 2. Me and Kelya decided(probably against better judgment) to buy a box of it right when it went to sale. We saw all the spoilers, and while I was disappointed in some cards, I'm still stoked though. Its a big piece out of my paycheck, and I want all the good cards.

My mind always goes to my Cube first as always, so I always look for cards for that first. Second I see cards for decks I want to build, and the fact that I want to get into modern next is a big draw for me. So with that, lets get this list started!

Bitterblossom            All Is Dust

My two runners up that don't quite make it to the top. I want Bitterblossom in my cube so hard it hurts. Its a great token generator and a powerhouse in any deck. All Is Dust is is one of the best sweepers ever printed. Some of the times its a one way wrath that just kills everything they have and leaving you with all but death.

Number 10:

Blinkmoth Nexus

I love Man-Lands. Period. And this guy is a staple in so many great affinity decks. The best thing is, even not in those decks he shines as just another flyer that strikes out of nowhere. I just have always wanted this guy and now hopefully I may be able to get it.

Number 9:

Puppeteer Clique

I love the flavor of this guy. The Vendilion Clique after the change to Shadowmoor, instead of stealing cards in hand it steals creatures in graveyards with an added affect of removing them after. Plus this guy with persist is excellent. so late game sweeper, play this guy then swing at them with thier biggest thing. Bangin.

Number 8:

Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite

Where do I start with The Grand Cenobite? He is one of my favorite creatures ever printed. The art, the flavor, everything screams out "I am the greatest thing ever to exist." In some ways Elesh Norn really is one of the greatest creatures ever created. He is awesome and I want to own him so bad.

Number 7

Spellskite

Spellskite is one of the most useful cards ever printed. You have a kill spell, can't use it on what you want. Have a pump for your guy, nope now you have a pump for my Skittery horror. Anything you do that targets something will and can be directed to him. He goes into almost any deck and thus is the scariest little blocker here.

Number 6:

Karn Liberated

I have been playing magic for a long time and Karn has always been one of my favorite characters in its long history. The pacifist has finally awakened and he is taking none of any one's business. On a purely technical level he has to be one of the greatest planeswalkers ever to be printed. Single-handedly he can level an entire board. Even if you don't ultimate him, he is still truly destructive.

Number 5:

Tarmogoyf

I have always loved green fatties. When I can get one for 2cc that is astronomical. One of the best creatures ever printed and its also the most expensive in modern. I want him, but don't have the money to drop on just one card. If I grab one in my box I will be beyond happy.

Number 4:

Cryptic Command

In my opinion the third best counter ever printed. It just does everything. Talk about the biggest Swiss army knife ever printed. At its worse its a bounce and a draw. At its best, its completely disrupting your opponents entire board state. Everyone wants this card, and everyone has the right idea. I'll take 5, please. (Plus I really do love the new card designs with the bulleted lists)

Number 3:

Dark Confidant

Ah, good ol' Bob. Truly a magnificent specimen if I do say so myself. While his domination of modern may be coming to an end, he is still no less than one of the best things to come out of Black. Card advantage at any cost. he explains black to a person better than possibly any other card ever printed. I wish it was the original art. But regardless Bob will always be Bob.

Number 2:

Splinter Twin

If I can't get Goblin Guide, I will play Twin in modern. I have always been a red player deep in my heart. I wanted to play modern burn, but was always fascinated with twin combo decks. Well hopefully I will get my dream to actually pilot this baby.

Number 1:

Noble Hierarch

Where to begin, she is the best Mana Dork ever made. She not just taps for mana, but enables a combat trick a turn. She is truly the card I want, and the card that if I don't pull one in my box I plan on buying one myself. Because honestly she is the master of (in my option) Modern.
